Never mind that your total power is 5 times everyone else put together. The computer players have no idea of when to quit, so after the initial battles, the game is one long mop-up, at 1 territory per turn. Unfortunately, you have to suffer through a lot of garbage to get to it. The end scenario with the Russians is actually pretty good. Shooting, moving, watching things blow up, brings back memories of Panzer General. I have to feel sorry for the enemy soldiers, it must be disheartening to see all the bodies from the last 6 attempts.ĭespite this, the game is actually fairly fun, once you get used to all the stupidity, like casting spells (special powers) on an Abrams. The computer keeps attacking the same area, over and over, without any consideration of whether it can actually win the battle. Strategically, it is absolutely terrible. Tactically, it just tends to go after the lowest defense unit within range, which is so-so. The game's unquestionable worst point is the totally lame AI. Roads would not show at any level of resolution, forcing me to move the mouse over each hex to see where a road might be. The quality is generally good, but I had various bugs from video card problems.

The game does high res 3D graphics, which is both good and bad. The game is played on an extremely detailed map of the US, the details of even my home town are pretty close. This game is the modern remake of "Panzer General".
